Sept 20th TBI Breakfast meeting

This month’s TBI breakfast meeting marked another successful and informative event. Attendees were treated to a presentation from Pierre Bourassa and Dr. John Lawson, discussing how Canada can survive in a globally driven pharmaceutical market. The presentation actually went hand and hand with a two-part article the two co-authored in Biotechnology Focus magazine’s May and June issues. The presentation was very in-depth and took a look at where Canada stands right now in the pharmaceutical industry, where it’s going and what it needs to do.

Attendance was high as usual, with only standing room left by the time the presentations got underway. There was a wide variety of attendees from the biotech industry, researchers/scientists and students looking to get their foot in the door.

Also discussed at the breakfast were the plans for the upcoming revamped TBI website. The launch date is still to be determined but it’s promising to be bigger, better and more user-friendly than ever before.
